100% Natural Toothpaste Recipe

100% Natural Toothpaste Recipe

I have been using this toothpaste for almost 4 years, with little improvement on the recipe over time, but this final version fully satisfies me. It’s the best toothpaste I’ve ever used, and on top of that it is healthy, 100% natural and vegan.

The recipe is super easy to make, the toothpaste is prepared in a maximum of 7-10 minutes.

When it comes to clay, use only utensils of glass, porcelain or wood, never plastic or metal. Therefore, you need a 100ml (3.4oz) glass jar, a glass / porcelain / wood bowl and teaspoon.

Ingredients: 80 grams (2.8oz) of white clay; 5-6 tablespoons of cold-pressed coconut oil melted in bain-marie; 25 drops of each essential oil: peppermint, oregano, sage and cloves.

White clay is very rich in minerals. It has a strong effect of cleaning and removing toxins. Remineralizes teeth and whitens them.

Cold pressed coconut oil has an anti-inflammatory effect, reduces bad smell of the mouth, whitens teeth, prevents cavities and gingivitis.

Peppermint essential oil has antiseptic properties, diminishes bad breath, combats dangerous bacteria and maintains the health of teeth and gums, relieves toothache and gums.

Oregano essential oil has antibacterial and antiviral properties, refreshes breathing, treats infections of teeth and gums.

Sage essential oil is antiseptic, destroys most microorganisms that cause gum infection, has anti-inflammatory and soothing effect.

Clove essential oil has antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal and antiseptic properties. It has an anesthetic effect, so it’s a good remedy against toothache.

Recipe:
Mix 80 grams (2.8oz) of white clay with 25 drops of each essential oil, then add 5-6 tablespoons of coconut oil and mix thoroughly. The final result must be the consistency of a dough. Put it in a 100ml (3.4oz) glass jar.

Use an amount of almond size and moisten the toothbrush with water about 2 times until the paste gets diluted for an optimal wash. I recommend brushing your teeth for a few minutes, and if you have time, keep the toothpaste in the mouth for another 5-10 minutes (while doing something else) so your teeth and gums get the most out of the benefits of this toothpaste.

Do not worry, there will not be any sensation of oil in your mouth, absolutely not, on the contrary, you will feel an extraordinary cleaning effect and refreshment. It is that effective. If you keep it in your mouth for 5-10 minutes, the smell of onion or garlic will go away.

I also recommend “oil pulling” daily, which is an Ayurvedic ancient method. This means that the first thing in the morning is to rinse your mouth with 1 tablespoon of sesame or coconut oil for 15-20 minutes. With this method, you will get whiter and healthier teeth, gums and cleaner tongue (it removes toxins from the tongue and gums). It has a detoxifying effect on the oral cavity. Spill the oil into the trash, not sink (might pollute water).

Then clean your tongue with a teaspoon or spoon from the back to the tip of your tongue, do it a few times then brush your teeth. Oil pulling is good to be part of your daily care ritual, like toothbrushing is.

I also recommend drinking 3-4 glasses of water on the empty stomach each morning, and eating 30 minutes after.

Enjoy your day!
